How to Be More Productive

Most of us want to be more productive. Why is it so? It is because being more productive means that we can do more, achieve more and that will equal to financial abundance or success in life. However most of us do not know how to be more productive.

A common mistake when people think about increasing their productivity is that they need to do more to achieve more. However the truth is the opposite, you will need to do less to achieve more. Most of the time we are actually doing too much tasks that are of low importance and they contribute little value to our work. Those are the tasks that actually cause us to think that why are we getting busier yet there are no results to show for.

In order to become a more productive person, you will need to be able to do more tasks that are important and less tasks that are of lesser importance. It requires us to be efficient and effective at the same time. Take a look at your working hours and think about how many hours are spent on truly working and how many hours are wasted on tasks that are of small importance, such as checking emails or talking to your colleagues? You will find that the majority of your time during your working hours are spent on things that are not important.

One way to tackle this problem is to be conscious about your working habits and choose to work only on things that are truly important and delegate or stop doing trivial tasks that are of less importance. This way you are actually spending lesser hours yet achieving better results.

Another way to bump out your productivity is to create a sense of urgency to get you to complete your tasks faster and also eliminate procrastination. Most of the time we procrastinate on our tasks and choose to do them later because the deadline is faraway. However we will rush to complete the tasks if it is something that we need to hand up later in the day. Set deadlines for your tasks and try to make them realistic and challenging. This can help you to get started on tasks that you have always been procrastinating on and get them completed in a lesser amount of time.
