More and more today we find ourselves in a hurry. It seems there are not enough hours in a day to get everything done. And this is one reason we are in such a rush. That is why it is vital that we drive safely each day to and from our commutes.

Driving in foggy conditions is similar to driving in rainy conditions. We want to slow down and take our time when trying to get to our destinations. If you must drive during foggy conditions make sure you leave earlier than normal. That way you will have extra time to get where your going on time and safely. You won't be able to drive as fast as you would during normal conditions. It's a good idea to leave early for your destination in order to arrive safely and on time.

If you have to use your headlights while driving in the fog always use the dim beams, never use the bright beams. Bright beams in foggy conditions cause you to loose visibility because there is a glare coming back at you. The light of your bright beams is reflected off the thick fog which makes it more difficult to see than when using low beams. The effect is similar to trying to drive with the sun in your eyes.

So, if you know your going to need to drive during these conditions always leave earlier than you normally would to ensure a timely arrival. Also drive slower than the minimum speed and if you have to use your headlights use low beam only. Doing each of these things can help aid you in getting where your going in a safe and timely manner.
