How to Go Green by Recycling

We've all heard the phrase "reduce, reuse, recycle" but did you know that this phrase could actually end up saving the environment? By recycling, we can conserve energy and protect the future of planet Earth. Recycling is easy, anyone can do it, and every bit helps.

Why Recycle?

It seems like every year, there are more and more natural disasters which are caused by the effects of global warming and the greenhouse effect. People are really catching on to this trend and the "go green" movement is gaining steam, but there's still a lot of work that needs to be done.

I like to look at San Francisco, CA as an excellent example of the potential of an entire population as a whole to band together and tackle the issue of recycling. Recycling is a pretty simple concept on its own, but it comes down to the amount of effort people are willing to put forth. After all, it is a lot easier to just throw everything inside a trash bag and leave it outside, than it is to sort everything and deliver it to the recycling center yourself.

It is completely understandable that not every city is as recycling-friendly as San Francisco, and recycling centers may be hard to reach, but there is still an alternative. By buying recycled products, you would still be doing something that is eco friendly and beneficial to the environment. Purchasing recycled products is a great way to go green because you would be supporting the sustainable industry, as well as doing your part to help the environment. Since not everything can be recycled, another excellent idea is to buy products from thrift stores or any other type of second-hand store because new products require a lot of energy to manufacture and ship.
